Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 13, 2026
Audio Vault ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed by AimPulse. This privacy policy explains how the App collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
Audio Vault is designed with privacy in mind. The App collects and processes the following information:
- Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google, the App receives your basic profile information (name and email address) and permission to use your Google Drive. That permission is limited to files and folders the App itself creates: the App cannot see or open anything else in your Drive.
- Files in the Folder You Choose: The App reads the files at the top level of a folder you explicitly select on your device and uploads them to your own Google Drive account. Every file at the top level of that folder is uploaded, whatever its type. Files inside sub-folders are not.
- Device Storage: The App only reads from the folder you select. It never modifies, moves or deletes your files there. To upload them, it makes temporary copies in its own private storage on your device, which other apps cannot access. These copies are deleted when each backup finishes — or, if a backup is interrupted, at the start of the next one — and are removed if you clear the App's storage or uninstall it.
- Usage Statistics: The first time you open the App, you are asked to agree to this privacy policy before you can use it. Agreeing includes the anonymous usage statistics described in section 4. Nothing is collected before you agree.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Google Drive Backup: Your files are uploaded directly to your personal Google Drive under a "Call Records" folder. We do not store, copy, or access your files on any server other than your own Google Drive.
- Authentication: Google Sign-In is used solely to authorize the App to access your Google Drive on your behalf.
- Backups: Daily backups run using Android's standard background task scheduler. A backup you start yourself runs as a foreground service and shows its progress in a notification.
3. Data Storage & Security
- All backed-up files are stored in your own Google Drive account. We do not operate any external servers or databases that store your files.
- Authentication tokens are stored on your device and are sent only to Google, to authorize access to your Drive.
- The App uses HTTPS for all network communications.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Sign-In — for authentication (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Drive API — for file storage in your personal Drive
- Firebase — for app initialization and configuration, and for anonymous usage statistics through Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Privacy)
Usage statistics. Once you agree to this policy, the App sends the following to Google Analytics for Firebase, to help us understand where people have trouble setting up their backups:
- Whether you granted the notification permission and chose a folder
- Whether connecting to Google Drive succeeded, and if not, a general reason (for example, cancelled or failed)
- Whether a backup succeeded or failed, a general reason for a failure (for example, no folder selected or Drive unreachable), and the number of files uploaded as a range (for example, "2 to 10") rather than an exact count
- Whether you returned to the App on a later day
Firebase also records standard app usage information automatically: when the App is first opened and each session starts, how long it is in use, how the App was installed (for example, from Google Play), your approximate country, your device model, Android version and App version, and a random identifier for this installation of the App.
The App never sends your recordings, file names, folder names, contact names, phone numbers, email address, Google account details, Drive file identifiers or your device's advertising ID. The advertising ID is never collected.
Because the App cannot be used without agreeing to this policy, the way to stop these statistics is to stop using the App and uninstall it. Uninstalling deletes any statistics not yet sent.
Audio Vault's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Permissions
Folder access: You choose the folder using Android's system folder picker, which gives the App access to that one folder only. The App does not request general storage or media permissions.
The App requests the following Android permissions:
- Internet: To communicate with Google Drive
- Network State: To check for a connection — or for Wi-Fi, when "Wi-Fi only" is turned on — before a scheduled backup
- Foreground Service: To run a backup you start yourself while showing its progress
- Notifications: To show backup progress, and to tell you if a scheduled backup could not run
- Run at Startup: So that the daily backup schedule continues after your phone restarts
- Prevent Sleep: To keep the device awake while a backup is in progress
- Vibration: Used by notifications
- Battery Optimization Exemption: To ensure reliable background backups
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third party. Your files go directly from your device to your Google Drive account. Usage statistics are processed by Google as our analytics provider and are not used for advertising.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Since all data is stored on your device and your personal Google Drive, you have full control over your data at all times. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored preferences and cached data. Files on Google Drive remain until you delete them manually. Usage statistics already sent are kept by Google Analytics for Firebase according to its data retention settings; any not yet sent are deleted when you uninstall the App.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. If a change affects what you agreed to, the App will ask you to agree to the new version before you can continue using it.
